Kamila
They were afraid. All of them. As footsteps draw closer, they cower in fear. Shaking like a leaf in the wind as they drop their heads to the earth. ‘Everything’s in order,’ is what the footsteps must say. ‘Everyone know’s their place.’ However today will be different, for one among them will dare to stand up while all others bow down. ‘The outrage! She must, of course, be dealt with.’ But just as punishment approaches, one more stands.
Followed by another, and another. In the blink of an eye, thousands rise, just as the sound of footsteps disappear.
